Ok, I am just so taken with the idea of an outdoor library. Not just a telephone booth full of books. But a legit outdoor library. Thank you, Germany. I need to expand:
The idea is beautiful in so many ways (and I’m not talking just physical aesthetics!). Also, the way in which they describe the city as “previously industrial” and “has had trouble recovering” reminds me of a city close to home… perhaps this could be a model of innovation for something similar in the city of Detroit. The idea would not only save the city money on the demolition of an industrial building, but would also create something functional and enriching to the community.
